I don’t see how firing the supervisors will make a difference. If MLB is really interested in getting the calls correct, they should use instant replay in more situations. A challenge rule, sort of like the NFL.
I have been watching major league baseball for over 60 years and I have NEVER seen such lousy officiating in all those years. It was the worst ever and I couldn’t believe that these guys (refs and umps) get paid to do this job. I now am a firm believer that we need more cameras on the field of play with an opportunity for the opposing team manager to call for an instant replay and a review of the play. Last year’s officiating was pitiful and it’s now time to eliminate “human error” in making crucial calls, especially during the playoffs and the world series.
